Sony's new native 4K HDR laser projector (VPL-VW1025ES) is waiting for your home theater - Poc Network

Sony has a new laser projector that will be launching next month (available for pre-order for now) that sits on the Sony flagship throne. The new VPL-VW1025ES (model) 4K HDR laser projector for home theaters. A consumer-level projector (at not so consumer-level price).

You get 2,200 lumens, dynamic HDR, 4K up to 60p, plenty of lens shift to play with (although not as much as some of the Epson models we have worked with), ?: 1 dynamic contrast, IMAX Enhanced support, and what we can assume will be a fantastic image, all via Sony’s SXRD system.

As with many prosumer projectors, it will take a few others to help you mount it since it packs a whopping weight of 49 pounds. All of that weight, just hanging off your ceiling. But hey, no pain no gain, right? Well, until you see the price tag.

This new projector weighs in at $39,998. So as I said, a not so consumer-friendly price. This is quite common with any of these flagship 4K models though. However, there will be many buyers looking to get their hands on one when they release next month (if they aren’t already on the pre-order list).

The new model will be launching around May 7th. We’ve provided some links here as well as some additional specs below for your consumption.
