The upcoming Sony WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds with ANC have been leaking left and right and we now finally get a launch date. Sony posted a YouTube livestream on its official channel for a “Truly Silent. Tailored 4 you” event scheduled for June 9. The event is set to begin at 1AM Japan time on June 9 which due to the time differences translates to 4PM UTC time on June 8.
Sony’s new flagship TWS earbuds are set to debut with the company’s brand new Sony V1 processor with improved active noise cancelation and voice pick up. The earbuds will feature a new more compact in-ear design and slimmer charging case. Battery life is expected to come in at 8 hours on the earphones alone while the case bumps it up to 24 hours in total. Charging will be done via USB-C or wirelessly on compatible Qi-chargers.
Elsewhere, the WF-1000XM4s are also expected to feature LDAC and Hi-Res audio support as well as Sony’s 360 Reality Audio. The whole package will be IPX4 splash resistant and should retail for around €280/$340 compared to €250/$305 on the outgoing WF-1000XM3s.
