Earlier this week when speaking to Russian news outlet TASS, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan revealed that all existing PlayStation 5 consoles have been completely sold out, leaving many fans disappointed. Luckily for them, Sony has now announced that more PS5s are making their way to stores before the end of the year, just in time for the holiday season.
“We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever,” says the company on Twitter. “Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year.” There’s no exact timeline on when the new stock will arrive except before 2021, so Sony recommends that you stay in touch with your local retailers for the latest updates.
There are no numbers on how many will be released just yet, both Microsoft and Sony have said that its next-gen console releases have been its biggest launch ever. In light of this incredible demand, Xbox has also said that its Series X console will see supply shortages probably through until April 2021.
