Sony Music's German and European headquarters were previously based in Munich. The move is "further strengthening Berlin's position as the music capital of Europe," a press release states, and will help the company "widen its roster, as well as deepen partnerships, and to expand access to influential creative subcultures." Sony Music's roster in Germany includes rappers Apache 207 and RIN as well as singer-songwriter Mark Forster.
Sony Music is now actively hiring in the German capital, with jobs spanning from A&R to marketing. The office will also hold regular music business educational panels and workshops for "external partners, music aficionados and young talents."
"This wonderful building symbolizes the demand we want to meet: to give space to the creativity of our growing number of employees, partners and last but not least our artists," said Sony Music Germany, Austria, Switzerland CEO Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba. "With our new location we also want to give our domestic roster even more international exposure, with the support of the international marketing team of the region, while also enabling young talents and creatives to benefit from our worldclass expertise and infrastructure in this exciting environment."
The new headquarters are just a neighborhood away from the Sony Center in Potsdamer Platz, a Sony-sponsored shopping, restaurant and conference center.
"We very much look forward to expanding our synergy possibilities with Sony Music," said Sony/ATV Music Publishing Germany managing director Patrick Strauch. "At the same time, we will continue to deliver the best creative and administrative service to our local and international songwriters and publishing partners in these exciting new premises at Bülowstraße."
